I've seen a couple of "punks" braid small sections of their hair into little spikes all over their head and then spray them different colors and/or add beads (skulls,etc.) or colored rubber bands. You could try that if your hair is short.

some old ladies come into my work once a week for a shampoo and blow wave. because their hair is so grey/white they want some sort of colour in it so they put in a "water rinse" this is the same as if you put food dye and water in your hair pretty much. anyway, these colours are called "fancifull rinses" and they coem with all sorts of ridiculous names like "bashfu blonde" "saucy beige" "true steel" "silver lining" "white minx"

anyway, they are slightly coloured and it just gives them a little bit of a tone so they don't look so white.

the "true steel" one is the blue

and "saucy beige" is the pink one.

I'll give it my best shot though: Snip the ends of your hair so the edges are in a zigzag pattern (if you have straight hair); not sure if you can do punk with curly hair. I think you'd have to dye it a weird color to do punk with curly hair. Wear a skirt ripped like you've been raped but then you moved on the next day and whether or not you know how to not get pregnant is questionable. Think in squares or fours. Makeup has to be in arcs and so does jewelry. In arcs means the way it is applied.

Hey, i also hav long hair and am average height and i am also kinda girly so i know my hair stuff. first off i dont know if your hair is curly or straight but if its curly:

-Long and curly (this is the type of hair i hav)- get long layers. they look great on curly hair. a chocolate brown to espresso brown to chesnut would look great on a olive skin tone, then try some light brown highlights, face framing, just gradually put in that really blend it all together and look natural yet really pretty. hlaf up half down hairstyles look really good with controlled curls then leave a few curly strands around your face.

-Long and straight haired- get graduated layers they go from shorter face framing layers to long and it looks really nice and easy to style. with bangs or without looks good. get some lighter brown to blonde lowlights they are kinda underneath the brunette hair color and it adds a lil flair. wear hair down brushed and straight ironed with maybe a lil flip. no half up half down. you can spin it up into a clip. parted to the side or in the middle. whatevr u like.

ha if i told you what i did you would think im crazy, well even though you said no mohawks i did one, but for you well lets see, i geuss you can do really weird ponytails or do a emo style, or do a devil mohawk(not an actal mohawk), or maybe you color your hair seven different colors or if your hair is short enough you can do blue spikes at the end of your hair, but pink is okay if you want it, i think its way to girly.

get two plastic cups (or just one) small for short hair and bigger for longer hair. stick the big part, where you drink out of, on your head. Pull your hair so it goes around the cup and a little bit after the cup ends, put a ponytail in. because you have the pink spray you can spray it pink. If you get two cups, do pigtails. It is very original and very easy to do. It looks really crazy but isn't really.

WARNING: it might fall out kinda so to prevent this, make the ponytail close to the cup. the only bad part about it is that it doesn't look as crazy.

I once saw a girl at my school take a coat hanger and shape it into the shape of a heart, then she wrapped her hair around the wire and spray painted it pink. It was really cute and she won the award for "Best hair."

Some other ideas are putting your hair into tiny little buns all around your head, and then spray painting it; spike your hair with egg yolk (it works better than gel); or you could curl your hair and then use a variety of different colors to spray each curl.

* Powder bleach. Half a packet is one bleaching for short hair; longish hair requires a full packet and very long or thick hair requires two per bleaching. You will probably be bleaching your hair multiple times, and buy extra just in case. I usually buy three and if I only use two, I have one for next time.

* Dye. There are several brands, notably Manic Panic, Punky Colors, and Special Effects. Manic Panic stains less and runs less, but it won't last as long or look as intense. Special Effects is on the other end of the spectrum. For dark, vivid colors, use Special Effects, but remember: it will run in the shower, in the rain, and when you sweat. If it runs in a public place, it may look very odd. Punky Colors runs and stains a lot, but it doesn't look much different than Manic Panic, and therefore I don't recommend it. You can buy dye at Sally Beauty, Hot Topic, or the internet, and for the best selection, I'd stick with the net.

* Developer for the bleach. It comes in 10, 20, 30, and 40 'volume' which refers to the amount of peroxide. Read below for more information.

* A tint brush or old tooth brush. Beauty supply store.

* A small non-metal cup to mix the bleach in.

* Hair drier.

* Lots of heavy conditioner. (Stay away from anything expensive. You're poor (or I am anyway) and it's a ripoff).

* Plastic wrap (or processing caps if you prefer).

* Vaseline.

* Old, ucky clothes. Wear a button-down shirt so you can remove it without pulling it over your head (and hair).

* A whole lot of time, and a friend to help you if possible.

The first answer is pretty good, but there are some VERY IMPORTANT adjustments that I must tell you about.

* There are 2 types of bleach. One is for foil highlights and can be dangerous to use on the scalp. It's so caustic that your scalp can have severe chemical burns. The other is for just what you're doing. It usually comes in cream form.

*Your head will be itchy %26amp; possibly painful. If you scratch it, it will be worse. Make sure that there are no abraisions on your scalp before you proceed.

*Never use a peroxide higher than 20 volume mixed with bleach on your scalp unless the directions says otherwise.

*Apply the bleach 1/4" away from the scalp. Process untill your hair is the color of a baby chick. Mix a new batch %26amp; apply to your roots. The heat from your scalp will boost the action of the bleach. It you put it on the roots first, you will burn the h*ll out of your scalp waiting for the ends to come up. Cover your head LOOSELY with saran wrap to hold in your body heat %26amp; to keep the bleach from drying out.

*The bleach will not bring your hair up to white. You have to use a toner after you rinse, shampoo and condition your hair. Ask the person at Sally's for a suggestion. You'll want something with a purple base. Don't use anything lower than a level 9. (The lower the number, the darker the shade. You don't want to bleach your hair only to re-darken it.) Mix it with 5 volume peroxide-nothing higher. If they only have 10, mix it with = parts purified water.

Smush the toner on as quickly and evenly as possible. It will work almost as quickly as you can get it on. If you leave it too long, you will look like you have grey hair. The ends and around your face will grab the toner quickly. If you're confident, aim for the roots before you get it on the ends.

Personally I die my hair all the time but most of the time only ONE color. I thank it could look cool though. It depends on you and what you look like, some people just can't pull off crazy hair colors.

The best way to find out if it is going to look good is to just do it, if it looks bad redie it. I do it all the time and my hair hasn't fallen out yet so don't worry about that.

If you have curly hair it will take a little more effort to get the style you want. Cut you're hair the way you like it. Get a de-frizzer. Apply the de-frizzer on you're towel dried hair then proceed to straighten you're hair. When you straighten you're hair use a spray called heat defender it helps from to much heat damage. Also pull away from you're face when you straighten it. When you do that you are pulling away from the curl making it straight!

Don't get brown highlights- on red hair that result is unattractive. I'd say get a combination of highlights and lowlights to enhance color without changing it too drastically. The shades should be somewhat close to your natural shade. Or, just dye it all! Try the temporary dyes first in case you end up not liking the color. Redheads look good with light brown or golden blonde.

I've been recently been looking into this because I love doing all my friends hair crazy and was thinking about cosmetology school. I've also been making patterned extensions for myself and was thinking maybe I'll take it to the next level and start making them and selling them. I love crazy hair but the thing for me has always been too much synthetic, and not unique, it all looks the same just different colors. I was thinking of making some kind of arty wigs, but I want to look at more hairstyles and salons to see more about this.

Are you kidding me? Sweetie, the thing that is most attractive to guys is confidence and charisma, which you get from being comfortable with who you are.

Don't do things like that for guys, it won't get their attention in a good way, they'll just think you're desparate and therefore easy. Just be yourself.

Now about your hair... I'd reccomend dyeing it a darker color, like brown or something with a low ammonia hair dye. Get something natural, or maybe henna. Try to stick with something that won't damage your hair and make it crazy when it grows back. Maybe cut it a little shorter or something.

In future though, just rock your own thing. The boys'll think that's much sexier, and if your thing's green hair, or pink like mine was for years, than rock the hell out of it, but if it's not, then rock that. Just be yourself and be the awesome person I'm sure you are. The boys'll be crazy over you and you'll be happier.

Go find a decent hairdresser who can help you - or keep wearing a hat and cut it regularly - eventually your natural colour will come back again - my son went total black and his natural colour is red and he worried it wasnt going to come back but I can see red hair coming through now so I wouldnt worry too much just leave the green stuff alone in future - we all have to expiriment sometime and fair play to you for being different and brave xx

well if people don't like you they are just shallow and you shouldn't hang out with them they are not worth your time. if it wasn't supposed to be permanant but now it is, email or call the company and tell them. but read the label first and make sure it doesn't say it may be permanant on blone hair. did you use that loreal pulse stuff? i used to purple one on my blonde hair, it came out red, and it lasted a few months when it was only supposed to last one month. and i think that is really weird that it made your new hair come out green. i think with the pulse hair coloring you aren't supposed to put it too close or it will hurt your scalp or something. unless you are used to it.

Wow. I would visit my beautician STAT! Perhaps in the future, when you want to experiment with a non conventional hair color, try a rinse or semi-permanent color. I've been there before, (dyed my hair a mahogany and it came out purple!) it grew out eventually and I covered the remains with a dark brown permanent hair color. Good luck to you!

hey don't worry about your hair i know how u feel i put blue in my hair just to be a bit different and mine turned out **** i had to get a mullet which made it worse but i have alot of respect for u as you were only trying too be different (and that's the way too be) go too the hairdressers they will fix it for u .you may not be able to be a blonde for a while but I'm sure being a redhead or brunette would suite you also maybe you could try all different colours in your hair when mine grew out i went crazy now its cherry,black,ginger,blonde and light warm brown as iam a punk as well don't give up be different just be a bit more care full next time

If your going short get a really textured cut with a long fringe (bangs in american english???)

If you want to go long ask for short layers that start a little above the top of your ear. Ask for your fring to sweep across your forehead and have that cut a little below your eyebrow.

I love the whole rocker emo styles! I myself have never had it though. Think about how your hair will look with your everyday clothing style as well. Not just your face. Are you a Conservative dresser, or a high-fashion dresser? Do you wear skinny pants and bangles? (forever 21) Emo/rocker would be good for you then. Do you wear lots of cardigans and boot-cut jeans? She cut her hair to be a little more angled towards her face(shorter in the back, but chin length in the front), dyed in black and put red(I'm talking crayola crayon red) chunky highlights on the top and dyed the underside completely red. After she got tired of that, she dyed her hair bleach blonde and put black highlights in it. You can always put some strange color in it too. If you can't find anything you like, talk to a stylist you trust with your hair and they can usually give you a good idea of what will work and look good. I am rarely rebellious, so attempting to try something remotely punk is a stretch for me. But I am in love with the faux hawk thing with scene hair. ... I think you're pretty enough without it. I once cut my hair very short and it's taken 4 years for it to grow back. And once you layer your hair, there's really no going back. You can't change your style much until it all grows in the same length again.

But if you really want it, then I'd say just layer your hair in a short, razored looking cut and see if you really like it. If you still want to go further, at least you'll be sure, right?

i am going to dye my hair. i have mdeium dirty gold blonde, my skin is a lil pale with pink underones, and i have dark blue eyes, my hair is pretty normal thickness and when its longer its wavy curly. right now its about 2" inches or so long and i have it in a fohawk and i want something new.

i can only go lighter in color, or a like a shade darker.

Being that your hair is already brown I would go with a dark,medium reddish brown an add the black on the ends like you would want to do..I think this would look better and blend better. Even a medium red with black tips would look much better.

I think it would look pretty good on you ... but try do get some low lights in a darker red or highlights in a brighter red ... depending on if you're going for the bright or dark red! the only problem is the red won't stay for long pretty because the hair can't hold the red color ... so it's gonna come out everytime you wash what means that you have to dye it at least twice a month.

Red is a nice color I use to have my hair red, well like a auburn color with red definiton... i got alot of compliments, just keep in mind once you dye your hair RED it really is permanate no matter what other color you try to dye it or if you try to go natural the red dye will always be the under tone the color will alway fade to a ashly like red....... basically you'll have to let your hair go out if you choose to change it :)

I agree with the person above me. Check out your favorite bands and modify their haircut to your face and go at it. Or go back to some of the older punk bands (Sex Pistols, Ramones, etc.) and get a 'vintage' punk look.

I wouldn't suggest a mohawk because then that's something you have to style and live with until it grows out. Do something a little shaggy and you can put it in faux hawks whenever you please and give a little vaiation to your style.

I dye my hair purple...Its awesome. I go for a sort of dark purple, but not as dark as black. You could also do black with pink, blue, green or purple streaks in it. That would look fantastic. I use Schwartzkopf, and its worked for me so far. They last around 8 washes, or you can get more permanent ones (they don't come in cool colours though) that last for around 12 washes. The first time you dye your hair it'll be messy...be careful. After that, you'll be fine.

Keep in mind-you can't dye your hair any colour lighter than your natural colour (this is with temporary dyes), so you wouldn't be able to go platinum blonde or anything. You could also try a bright red. I did that, but it didn't work as well and the purple since I have medium brown hair. It might work on you, though. Good luck.

I've only ever used Manic Panic, although I hear Special Effects is better (meaning, you have to redye your hair less frequently-- it takes longer to come out). With any dye, reds come out easier than other colors. I think blues are supposed to last the longest.

Both are fine for your hair, as far as I know, however they become less healthy when you bleach your hair before applying the dye. Because your hair is auburn, bleach probably won't be necessary. I have dark blonde, and due to not knowing any better, I used bleach when I first started dying my hair. It DOES make the color appear brighter, but with light hair it can still look good without.

If you do decide to color your hair, I suggest that when you wash it, wash it in cold water. Semi-permanent dyes tend to run when you wash them (obviously), and they do this MUCH less when you use cold water.

So, yeah. I'd try Special Effects, but if you can't get it, Manic Panic is fine.

I'm biracial (black mother, white father) and I started relaxing my hair about 3 years ago. After it was relaxed I got a short, spiky, un-even, punk-like cut. After it grew out, it was very un-even and broken off so I got it all cut chin length. I was very un-happy with the length of my hair and started to wear clip in extensions. I was un-happy with how they didn't stay in my hair, so I got micro braids. At this time my edges were already brittle and broken off from before, but the braids helped them grow out. Sinse then I've had three sew in weaves, the last one is still in, and it pulled too hard on two small patches of hair around the edges that seem to be doing fine now. Stopping the relaxers is not an option, what should I do after I take the weave out, to keep my edges from breaking and the rest of my hair growing and healthy?

Well the first thing you need to do when you take out your weave is give it a good deep conditioning. My favorite conditioner is LeKair Cholesterol Plus Strengthening and Conditioning Cream. It contains jojoba oil, aloe vera and collagen protein which makes your hair softer and stronger.

After shampooing your hair, place the conditioner on it and let it sit for 30-45 minutes. Sitting under a dryer during this time is even better. This particular conditioner can also be used as a daily treatment by mixing one tablespoon of it with 8 ounces of water, and spraying it lightly over your entire head before styling. This will strengthen your hair and prepare it for if you plan to get another weave.

After this, when your hair is dry, it's good to use some sort of product that moisturizes and restore nutrients. Pink Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion helps protect your hair against breakage and split ends, and works great on relaxed hair. These products can be purchased at your local beauty supply store.

Depends on what ur most comfortable as. What would you classify yourself as? lol Rocker, punk, or emo are all good styles...for curly hair, I'd say either rocker or punk lol. Emo hair is usually really really really straight. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. But are you limiting yourself to those 3 options? Cuz you could def step outside of those qualifications and would still look cute, if not even cuter. like try straightening your hair and layering it. that would prolly be really cute. :)
