you might want to try wash out dye first, just to get used to the idea. If you and youre friend dont like it then, then it wont matter.

not if you have really pale skin. Try a dark brown..much easier on the eyes.

Dying your hair is a personal preference. I've had mine black before and loved it. Now it's red. However, make sure you want black hair because it is one of the few hair colors that does not bleach out. Don't use a permanent product the first time. Try a rinse instead. Maybe your friend will agree if it's not so permanent.

Black is the best colour I have ever seen in hair. It takes so well it's amazing ! It actually feeds the hair and looks deadly.

if you do dye your hair black make sure you use non permanent dye!! cos if you use permanent and you dont like it i am not joking wen i say youll be waiting about two years to get your other hair colour back! and you will have terrible roots while this process is going on! if you realli must make sure you use some lash and brow tinting dye or it will look fake and weird!

it's entirely up to you what you do to your hair. i mean your friends aren't wearing it so it's your decision, if you want to die your hair then you should die it. i man do you tink that if someone dies their hair and the colour doen't suit them they care? they'll learn to deal with it.

Do not dye your hair black, it can look very harsh, and if it does not look right, it is difficult to change it, you have to bleach it out and tone it down.

I think Loreal or another brand has temporary color that lasts 10/to 12 shampoos, I believe it is called color pulse or something like that, look in to that and try that, they have some nice colors that would be fun.

try a washout dye and then go permanent if YOU not your friend YOU like it. Its not your friends hair its YOUR'S!! Do what YOU want with it.

When it comes to dying your hair black there is no such thing as a wash out black as this is the most prominent colour of them all. Once your hair is black it will be a case of growing it out as nothing will lift out the colour apart from bleach but this will wreck your hair. Anyway dont follow the crowd go for something different

been there done that - it looks great at the time - until you decide to change it - black can't be bleached out . I ended up having to grow it out- so if your going to be happy with two tone hair for ages - go for it :D

My hair has always ( and still is ) like 'Blackie Lawless from WASP. But for a very short time ( And I mean a short time) I wanted a 'Poodle Perm' like Jon Bon Jovi (Slippery when wet era).

ALL my mates told me it would look stupid,and Gay!!!!!, but I never listened did I. Course I knew best, ( Well every rock star had a poodle-permed hairstyle ) , so I got it done just to be 'Fashionable'.

I saw sense and returned to my 'Old' look within less than a week. I should have listened to my mates after all !!!!!

So maybe.....just maybe your mate might be right.

But if you must , follow the advise on earlier posts.

as a teenager i dyed my hair black, unfortunately, it made my teeth look yellow. I have pale skin, so this was not a good look, but it u have a more tanned or more olive toned skin, then it will look lovely x

yeah, um, do a temperary black....... and if you like it then do it, and yeah black is the new punkish look... but um, you might want to think about like doing your hair blakc on the bottom and a diffrent color on the top... that how mine is!

Try a make that washes out then if you like it go the whole hog. I personally think black with pink is cool for the new punk look. You can buy a pink spray that washes out. Go on I dare you! Hope this helps
